IN GOD WE TRUST

Here's your chance to let the media know where the people stand on our faith in God, as a nation. NBC
is taking a poll on "In God We Trust" to stay on our American currency. Please send this to every Christian you know so they can vote on this important subject. Please do it right away, before NBC takes this off the web page. Poll is still open so you can vote.

It should stay on the money because it clearly could refer to any God. Since God isn't in our Constitution at all, makes you wonder what God were they referring to, or just God as creator in general.

This is a huge debate since most people have a very false view on how and who our country was founded by. Article 11 of the Tripoli Treaty (1797) states, "The Government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on Christian religion." So then the argument could to keep it on the money is that it is referring to Jesus Christ our God, but a "God" in general.. It's all ones view of it.

Most would be very surprised to read the real thoughts and beliefs of our founding fathers which most were Deists( which they believe there was a creator but not a being and or spirt that has contact or daily interaction with human life on earth, etc.) Something we weren't really taught in school. Having spent most of my life studying American history I myself am still baffled when I come across some of the quotes and writings by these men.

You want a good and real perspective of American History is Howard Zinn's People's History of the United States This is stuff they never taught in schools and once you read it Columbus Day and many other aspects of historical figures will be changed in your mind. It's a great read for anyone interested in other views of how our country was founded and how we were taught historical events and key participants in this history.
