BIG NEWS!!!!!!!!!!

Don & I have been feeling the heart tugs for awhile.....finally, it seems the Spirit was REALLY urging me.....

"It's time"

We are officially starting the adoption process again!!!!!

We are sooooo excited. There wasn't even a question as to where....

Ethiopia!!

Haiti was briefly considered as well, but after looking into agencies, country requirements, cost and qualifications, we decided on Ethiopia for sure. Tomorrow we mail in the application. We're applying for either a boy or girl, single child or siblings, 18mo - 3 yrs. The process from application to travel could be anywhere from 12-24 months. Still shorter than China, which is 4-5 yrs (and the main reason we're not adopting from there again).

We've chosen the same agency we adopted Nate from and it will take up to 2 weeks to find out if they approve our app. From there, we begin collecting all the paperwork for our dossier. This could take 3-6 months. After that, we send in our papers and wait for a referral.

We've had a heart for Africa even before we adopted Nate. I can't wait to travel there to pick up our child & see their country & culture. More importantly, I'm excited to open our home to another orphan who would not have a family, otherwise. We asked Nate if he wanted a brother or sister. For a long time he said, "I want a brother!", but lately he's been asking for a sister. haha. For more info on Ethiopia, click here: ETHIOPIA ADOPTION

Please keep us in prayer....
1. for our app to be approved
2. for funds to be raised or made available for the adoption fees
3. for our child-to-be

God willing...this time next year we could be close to having Sullivan #2!

Little Dresses for Africa

I am SO going to do this! Ran across a post about this from another blogger and now I'm getting on the bandwagon...making pillowcase dresses for impoverished and/or orphaned children in Africai. Super, super easy. If you go to this website: LITTLE DRESSES FOR AFRICA you can get instructions and find out more info about the organization.

I'm planning on sending them my dresses (they could also use shorts for boys) by July 1. If you want to make some & give them to me, I'll include them in my shipment....or you can send yours to their address yourself. For those of you who don't sew...they also need donations of supplies (listed on their website).

Such a simple thing to make a HUGE difference in children's lives. If you want to send me your dresses, let me know & I'll send you my email address.

Slip n Slide!

When I was a kid, we had a Slip n Slide and it was soooo much fun! I wanted Nate to get in on that fun so I brought one home last week. Now, its been YEARS since I've been on a slip n slide....probably since I was a kid....but of course, I had to show Nate how it worked. It was as much fun as I remember, but I don't remember being so SORE the next day! haha! It was our turn to watch our friends' kids for a sleepover & they had a ton of fun on the slide. New Samples!!!

I love getting packages in the mail! Got a great one today....fabric samples with my "Salsa Picante" art on them!! I've been sewing since I was 14 and who would've thought that one day I'd see fabric with my own artwork on it??!! It's kind of surreal. The fabric is made by Robert Kaufman Fabrics and sold mainly in quilt shops. You can go to their website below, click on "Where to Buy" at the top of their site and find a local store near you.

I could see making a quilt out of this and then a friend of mine (who's hubby is a chef) said that he would LOVE a pair of chef's pants made out of them! haha! I guess the same could go for aprons, hospital scrubs...whatever else you can think of. Sweet!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's day to all you special moms out there & especially to those of you who are celebrating your very 1st Mother's day with your child!

Don brought me a bouquet of fresh flowers....my favorite! I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE fresh flowers. For lunch we went to Bluepoint seafood and totally overstuffed ourselves on the brunch buffet. Man, it was tasty! After that...home for a much needed nap....and later, a good walk to burn off the buffet calories. haha! Hope you all had a wonderful day.
