SANTA!

Yesterday, we took Nate to get his photo with Santa. During the car ride I was prepping him and he said, "Santa" over and over. We got out of the car and I said "Let's go see Santa" and he happily went with us into the mall. Then we got up to Santa's house...he took one look at the guy, let out a loud cry, buried his face in our legs and refused to let go. Fortunately, we were the only ones in line so we tried to convince him that Santa is a friend and we're just going to get a photo.

Uh..yeah, right. He wasn't buying that. On top of that, some snowbirds from our church saw us and wanted to say "hi" to Nate. In Nate's mind, that translates "more strangers" so he got even more worked up. Luckily, they understood and sensed his anxiety so they stepped back and allowed him to calm down. Eventually, we decided we would ALL get our photo taken. I sat down next to Santa and tried to put Nate on his lap but he arched his back and started crying again so I had to calm him down all over again and tell him it was ok and I would hold him. He agreed to that but kept gnawing on his fingers (which he does for comfort). I had to hold his hands down so we could get a photo without his hands stuffed in his face.

Do you like the look on his face? haha! It has "GET ME OUTTA HERE!" written all over it! As soon as we left, he started smiling and acting like nothing ever happened. On to the next big thing!

Grace took one look at Santa last year and completely FREAKED out. We are skipping it this year as she is even more suspicious of strangers!
