TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS...

.....and all through the home, mom & dad were conked out, while Harvard did roam. Had a good night tonight. Our usual Christmas Eve service at church was fun and relaxing. Nate was his usual squirrly 14 month old self. Hard to sit still with so much going on but it was fun to be the one with the kid running around this year. He wore his little Santa suit and did pretty well, all things considered. We sang carols, read the birth of Jesus, Nancy read "Twas the Night before Christmas" to all the kids and Don gave a message about being a light to the world....taking the message of hope that Christ offers to everyone. After that, we had lit candles and sang "Silent Night".

We stopped by some friend's house afterwards for a quick visit (as Mr. Nate was getting really tired & cranky), but he quickly changed his tune when they presented him with a fun gift for his first Christmas and he absolutely loved it. Then we hurried home, tucked the little guy into bed and brought out the "Santa" gift. We got him these gianormous foam shapes that he can climb on, slide down and carry around the house. Just the type of stuff he loves to do.

Then we turned off the lights and left the Christmas tree lights on, sparkling in the night as we waited for Christmas Day to come.

Good night everyone. See you tomorrow!
